Zabzugu Senior High School won the first contest for the Northern zone in the preliminary stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
Three schools featured in the contest on Thursday morning. Namely, Zabzugu SHS, Anbariya SHS and Gowrie Senior High Technical School.
Zabzugu outperformed their opponents in the contest with a 23 point lead, followed by Gowrie and with Anbariya coming in last.
Abdulai Abdul-Latif and Abdul-Rahaman Hamdu who won the first Goil Riddle Bonanza nationwide represented Zabzugu SHS.
Gowrie SHS were represented by Kenii Adombila and Evans Atongo who battled it out with Amidu Suale and Iliasu Kasim, representatives of Anbariya SHS in the contest.
At the end of the contest, Zabzugu SHS led with 38 points to secure a spot in the next round of the competition.
Gowrie SHTS and Anbariya SHS wrestled for the 2nd and 3rd positions with 15 and 13 points respectively.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, supporters of various schools were not allowed at the venue.
They, however, participated virtually through the NSMQ Facebook and YouTube channel.
