The Ghana Union Traders’ Association (GUTA) has congratulated President Nana Akufo-Addo on his appointment as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
The Association in the message said that they are confident the President would take advantage of the appointment as well as being the host of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to solve all trade-related matters by strictly abiding by the rules of engagements.
GUTA also stated that President Akufo-Addo is likely to excel due to his background of experience and depth of knowledge.
“Given his wealth of experience, knowledge and exemplary leadership, coupled with his full awareness of the enormity of the challenges facing the community; as he rightly mentioned five immediate challenges that need to be addressed, we have no doubt that determination and hard work; he will excel in the performance of his duty,” it reads.
