Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta says government will hold further consultations on the Agyapa Royalties agreement with the National House of Chiefs and Civil Society Organisations in the country.

This comes after various demands for the suspension of the deal by CSOs over claims that the processes involved lack transparency.

15 CSOs, at a press conference in Accra, vehemently opposed the deal insisting that government must come out with more details and provide better particulars relating to the agreement.

But responding to this on Newsfile, Mr. Ofori-Atta said on Saturday that government is ready to engage with the National House of Chiefs and other stakeholders on the deal.

He noted that, government "will seek an audience with the Council of State and also with the National House of Chiefs."

He further revealed that documents relating to the agreement will be made available on a dedicated website.

"The engagements will come in a form of making literature on the deal public," he said.

"I think we've had a pretty frank and open discussion with the CSOs and I pray that they'll realise that we have no ill motive in what we are doing," he said.
