The National Inspectorate Board (NIB) has directed that private and tertiary institutions that wish to continue with academic work while awaiting the January 2021 re-opening date can do so through the Virtual Learning Program (VLP).
VLP was adopted by various schools to aid in academic work after Covid-19 visited the shores of the country.
In March, President Akufo-Addo gave a directive for all schools (private and government) to be closed down until further notice, as part of measures to mitigate the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the country.
Nonetheless, in the President's 16th address to the nation, he directed that JHS and SHS 2 students must resume school in October to complete their academic calendar. All other students [pre-tertiary] must remain home until January 2021.

Addressing this concern, NIB has clarified that the directive still holds for private and tertiary schools that wish to continue with the program.
However, private school proprietors are to note that fees charged for the Program must be decided in consultations with parents.
