The Gender Minister has denied social media reports that the current distribution of food for BECE candidates is being politicised by members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Cynthia Morrison's comment follows concerns raised about the branding of the food with images and NPP party colours ahead of the December 7 elections.
Last week, social media users went ballistic when at least three takeaway packs branded with the images of the President and the aspiring MPs for Tamale Central, Tolon, and Kpando constituencies surfaced online days after President Akufo-Addo instructed the Ministry to give the pupils one hot meal a day from August 24 to September 18.
Already, the National Coordinator of the School Feeding Programme, Dr Gertrude Quarshigah has denied knowledge of the incident which has widely condemned.
But addressing the issue at the 'Meet the Press' session in Accra, Madam Morrisson said investigations are still ongoing since she Is optimistic someone is being sabotaged.
“I called the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) whose picture was placed on the food and he had no idea. He asked me where it was happening and I said in your constituency because I was in tamale when I saw it and he had no idea.
"What makes me believe him also is that, two weeks before then, they used his picture and the picture of the NDC candidate asking people to vote for both of them which is not possible and he came out to speak against it.
"So I believe there is a sabotage somewhere but we are still looking into it but I saw another teacher who out of excitement said four more for Nana, but indeed those children are not even voting so I am sure the teacher was just excited but I have issued a communiqué that I don’t want anybody to politicize it because it is a national assignment it is not politics.
"But for the PC’s picture on it, it was not done by him and I can say on authority that he did not authorize anybody to do that.
"Unfortunately I only saw the food and didn't see a school uniform to be sure it is this school, so we can investigate, only pictures. But if you have pictures with the school, you can let me know."
The Gender Minister also said under-performing caterers on the school feeding programs will be replaced since quality will not be compromised.
She explained that the headteachers have been put in charge of assessing the quality of food given to the children and have also been tasked to submit daily reports to the Ministry.
