The Northern Regional youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned what it described as the exposure of Junior High School students to politicking by the Akufo- Addo government.
They said the children do not own voter ID cards neither are they politically exposed therefore it was completely wrong for the NPP to take advantage of the hot meal initiative to serve as a conduct for campaign.
They said government did this because of its desperation to retain power in the upcoming elections.
At a press conference in Tamale, Youth Organiser Abdul-Mumin Abdul-Karim also condemned the quality of food served the children citing several videos that have gone viral on social media of students rejecting the meals.
He said several schools in the region since the program began have still not had food, adding that this was a strategy by government to drain government coffers with the program as it did during the lockdown.
He said the figures quoted by government for feeding only 400,000 Ghanaians in some parts of the country for just two weeks during the partial lockdown clearly shows how corrupt the NPP administration is.
The Youth Organiser further accused the NPP government of increasing the country’s debt stock from ¢120.3 billion in December 2016 to ¢236.1 billion by March 31, this year.
