The National Youth Authority (NYA) has condemned the uncomplimentary behaviours exhibited by some of the students writing the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
In a statement signed by the Authority’s CEO, Sylvester Tetteh on Thursday admonished the students noting that government has made a considerable investment in their future, thus, they must effective utilised.
“Candidates should be appreciative of the noble gestures of government to afford them a brighter future and remain focused on their studies, be committed to the values of humility, patience, discipline and soberness and to eschew all manner of negative conduct that does not inure to their wellbeing and development.
“They shouldn’t be intimidated but be assured of the fact that as they stay committed to their studies, they’ll surely come out with flying colours,” he said.
Since the WASSCE commenced on Monday videos gone viral on social media platforms of some students perpetrating acts of violence and vandalising school properties.
But Mr Tetteh advised the candidates to use legitimate means to explain their grievances instead of adopting violence.
