The Gender Ministry has expressed its "grave shock and incalculable revulsion" at the lynching of a 90-year old woman.
The video making rounds on social media shows the old woman being lynched on suspicion of witchcraft. This unfortunately, lead to her death.
The sad incident is said to have occurred at a village called Kafaba in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region.
In a press release signed by the sector Minister, Cynthia Morrison, she condemned the incident and described it as "barbaric."
The Agona West MP called "for immediate investigations and prosecution of all the perpetrators of this gruesome murder in accordance with our laws."
Madam Morrison said the unspeakable act went against the strides the nation had made towards "upholding the rights and dignity of women."
