The presidency has denied reports that President Akufo-Addo has been flown to the United Kingdom, London to receive treatment for Covid-19.
The Herald Newspaper had reported that the president has been flown out of the country for the treatment after testing positive for the virus.
Citing sources at the Jubilee House, the paper said President Akufo-Addo and a couple of his close aides had contracted the disease.
But Communications Director at the Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin said the report is false.
In a Facebook post, Mr Arhin asked the public to “disregard the false story.”
He added that the publication is “clearly a figment of the author’s imagination.
"The President is in the country, and he’s currently at the Presidential Villa in Jubilee House, observing the 14-day self-isolation precautionary measure, in compliance with Covid-19 protocols," he added.
Mr Arhin shared a photo of the president - who is self-isolating after someone close to him tested positive for Covid-19 - his wife and two of their children.
