Police at Pakyi Number 2 in Ashanti Region are confident about improvement in their operations, with new office furniture and equipment.
Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank donated two each of desk, cabinet and swivel chairs as well as a laptop to the local police station.
Board Chairman, Patrick Owusu describes the relationship with the police in the area as fruitful.
“Banks work closely with the police in as much as they maintain a safe environment for us to operate in. It’s to assure the general public, we’ll not relent on our responsibilities in the face of the challenges but we’ll still strive hard to help government and other institutions to take care of our safety and wellbeing,” he said.
Atwima Kwanwoma District Police Commander, Albert Odi-Quansah, says the bank’s gesture is crucial in enhancing security duties.
“Until this day, the police at Pakyi usually find it very difficult to prefer charges against accused persons before parading them before court. With the desk, they will be seated well. And the cabinet will help us store our documents,” he said.
