SIC Insurance Company Ltd, has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) valued at GH¢50,000.00 to the Covid-19 Trust Fund in support of Ghana’s fight against the pandemic.
The PPEs included: disposable nose masks, protective coveralls, goggles, gumboots, hand sanitizer gel, rubbing alcohol, hand gloves and disposable surgical caps.
The Company said the donation is to aid the effort of the frontline service providers who are doing a heroic job at great risk to stem the disease from spreading.
The Deputy Head of Corporate Affairs, SIC Insurance, Shirley Kokui Agyeman who led the delegation to hand over the items at the Flagstaff House stated that the gesture formed part of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility towards the health sector especially in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mrs Kokui Agyeman said SIC Insurance has been motivated by the leadership of His Excellency, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his team in combating the pandemic and hoped the items will augment the efforts of the government.
She urged all citizens to follow and observe the protocols outlined by the Health Authorities by washing hands regularly with soap under running water, using alcohol-based hand sanitizers, wearing face masks and if possible staying home to stay safe.
Receiving the items, Chairperson of the Fund, Madam Sophia Akuffo, commended SIC Insurance for their kind gesture and assured the PPEs will be distributed immediately so that the frontline personnel and the vulnerable people can be given the adequate protection.
