Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong says whereas money is his favourite thing on earth, seeing his family and creating jobs make him happy.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with JoyNews’s Mamavi Owusu-Aboagye, he said though he’s rich, he’s not as rich as he wants to be.
According to him, Ghanaians make a lot of fuss about his wealth because there are not many rich people in Ghana.
“I don’t have money so I’m struggling to make it. You know the way you put it, it’s like a blind man’s world where the one-eyed man is king.
"You watch TV programmes, the young men, Microsoft, Warren Buffet, Facebook, all these guys are billionaires. And if you come here with small millions your name is all over the place, Kennedy Agyapong is rich, no.”
Mr. Agyapong said he has only been able to make eight percent of the total amount of wealth he wants to acquire, even though he’s very comfortable.
He also refused to reveal his target amount.
“Why should we always be begging people for favours? I mean, black man can do it too, that’s my belief.”
Speaking about what brings him real joy, the outspoken politician said his family and businesses do.
“What I enjoy is; I wake up in the morning, I drive to my site, my companies and I see people working … that’s the joy, I’m able to create jobs for people.
“Then besides that, talking about happiness is having lots of kids. When I see them, dining, when we are all eating together, I feel so good about it, so these are basically what make me happy.”
But he was quick to add that money was essential to creating more jobs and offering employment to people, thus the need to acquire more.
