Music producer Ball J believes award-winning rapper Sarkodie is gradually losing his elements as far as music is concerned.
According to him, Sarkodie has not made much of an impact lately, especially after the release of his hit song ‘Borga Borga.
“Sarkodie was doing well after he dropped Borga Borga. He was doing so well and was all over the place, but until recently he has swayed from that fire and is always trying to sound so much like a king.” Ball J told host of Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Mercury Quaye.
According to him, although there is nothing wrong with Sarkodie tagging himself a king, there was no need for him to lose his elements as a result.
“I have no problem with that but he should have held on to the older songs and stick to those elements because he is not on Jay Z's level. In this crawling industry, I felt him more during his days with Edem.
"He should try to keep the elements in his old songs because those songs made him exactly who he is. I see him to be doing more of Naija vibes which I think is bad.”
When asked whether the rapper was trying to meet recent market requirements in the industry, Ball J stated: “yes that may be the trend but he being a king, he must stick to his regular style of doing music."
"There is no way Jay Z may want to switch to 'Trap' even though it may be the new trend, I am only asking Sarkodie to stick to his original style,” he added.
