Nominee to the Supreme Court Justice Clemence Honyenuga says judges do not consider any case as “a political case.”
According to the Appeals Court judge, justice only considers cases on their merit and the evidence presented by parties in a case.
While answering questions from members of Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Monday, Mr Honyenuga told legislators he is yet to know of any case which is termed a political case.
“What we have are constitutional cases,” he said.
He added that some persons may brand cases as political, based on the parties or the matter to be determined but judges simply consider them constitutional cases.
