On Saturday, 3Music Networks made history when they organized the third edition of the 3Music Awards virtually.
Due to the ban on public gatherings, the show which usually has the presence of a large physical audience had none.
However, there were hosts with members of the production crew at the Fantasy Dome at Trade Fair, La, to see the 2020 3Music Awards take off and land successfully.
The team including artistes who came to perform observed the social distancing protocols both on and off stage.
Many people have praised the production crew for a good work while others picked out their favorite moment.
The truth also is that, the guys at #3MusicAwards put in more efforts to give us an award scheme with an international feel than any award scheme in Ghana. They’re the standard. #3MusicAwards20

If you missed the show, here are some of those highlights:
OB Amponsah and Clemento Suarez
Comedians OB Amponsah and Clemento Suarez did not host the awards but they won the hearts of many viewers with their comic displays.
On their first appearance, they were seen dressed as President Akufo-Addo and one of his interpreters, respectively, delivering the state of the music industry address.
Let me post our video some erh. I know it's Pasco, but wo bɛyɛ no dɛn? 🤣 🤣 🤣

Tag your artiste, let him know the president is watching him closely. 🤣 #3MusicAwards20 pic.twitter.com/83aGc4PIEp
They subsequently went on stage to read live comments viewers had posted about the show as it was aired.
Clemento Suarez then dressed as his alter ego – a schoolboy named Timothy – had people laughing throughout the night.
Their antics put them on Twitter trends on Saturday evening through to Sunday morning.
Naa Ashorkor and Jay Foley’s outfits
This was the first time these two radio and TV show personalities were hosting an event without a live audience.
They admitted that the experience was unusual but did their best to engage the viewers at home.
However, the fact that no audience was present to see their outfits in person did not stop them from going all out.
Naa Ashorkor came in an emerald green gown with its customized mask made by Pitis GH.
Jay Foley dressed up in an outfit made exclusively for him by Nineteen57 – a fashion brand owned by broadcaster and fashion designer, KOD.
New school performances
New school performances are the performances by the new artistes who shot to fame in the year under review.
Among them, Kweku Smoke and Bosom P-Yung earned huge applause on social media for their energetic acts.
Bosom P-Yung recreated his Attaa Adwoa performance on the stage before he was joined by Kweku Smoke.
Together, they performed their single 'Akata'.
Imagine the raw of the crowd with bossom P yung on stage.

Another new school artiste that had people waiting to see his next big move was Camidoh.
He was later joined by an old school artiste Jupiter, with whom he performed a remix of his song For My Lover.

Drew, Krymi and Fameye were the last acts to perform on the show.
Although the show was practically over, their performance had people staying up until the final curtain was drawn.
KiDi and Cina Soul’s opening act
KiDi and Cina Soul proved, once again, that collaboration is not only about getting a song out but how well two artistes work together.
The two young acts received praise on social media after they performed their famous duet Say You Love Me.
Charlie @KiDiMusic ...You're super blessed wai...Fantastic performance🔥🔥#3MusicAwards20

KiDi later performed some of his hit songs including Enjoyment.
As opening acts, the duo performance eased audience into the show preparing them for the night.
Daughters of Glorious Jesus
The famous Gospel trio Daughters of Glorious Jesus took the audience to church with their 30 minutes performance.

For many people who have been following them throughout their career, it was a nostalgic turn of events for them.
Daughters Of Glorious Jesus always a delight to watch and listen to! #3MusicAwards20 #StayHomeEdition

Daughters of Glorious Jesus had many Ghanaians tweeting about them, their performance and the need for other artistes especially those in the same genre to pick cues from them to enrich their live performances.
I so agree...aside Daughters of Glorious Jesus performance....they killed it for me. Pure class and energy esp @kwekusmoke_ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Paying tribute to lost industry persons
The 2020 3Music Awards was an all-inclusive show with honours given not only to industry players who are alive but also those who have died.
The crew honored late singer Awurama Badu with an Achievement Award and also named the Female Act of the Year category after her.
Hence from next year, the award will be named the Awurama Badu Female Act of the Year category.
Musician Sugar Lord also took the stage to perform Kofi B’s 'Mmobrowa' as a tribute to people the industry has lost over the years.
Despite all these, the 2020 3Music Awards show did not have a smooth sail from when it began at 8 pm to when it ended at 1 pm.
Initially, we wanted to capture the reactions of the nominees via Zoom. When that could not happen, we had to use Plan B. – @sadiqabdulaiabu#DaybreakHitz
— Hitz 103.9 FM (@Hitz1039FM) May 4, 2020
The CEO Sadiq Abdulai Abu admitted on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM that they spent a chunk of the night fixing technological challenges they would not have had if the show was held with an audience.
For us, as much as we've been producing events, this is about the first time we did something leverage fully on technology. We spent more time trying to correct faults. –@sadiqabdulaiabu #DaybreakHitz
— Hitz 103.9 FM (@Hitz1039FM) May 4, 2020
But 2020 3Music Awards still managed to pull through gaining applause from viewers who were unsure how the show would turn out.
I wanna say @sadiqabdulaiabu and others who organized the #3MusicAwards20 satisfied Ghanaians more than their expectations
