Bolgatanga based rap artiste, Soorebia, has been adjudged the “Next Rated Act” category at the 3Music Awards held on Saturday night at the Fantasy Dome, Trade Fair, La in Accra.
The rapper was competing with nine other new artistes from nine regions in Ghana for the award.
Soorebia is originally from the Upper East Region who has been struggling for a breakthrough.
He raps mainly in the Gurune dialect spoken by the Frafra people in and around Bolgatanga.
He has recorded songs with other Artistes like Akan, Wanluv Da Kubolo and Tamale-based artiste, Maccasio.
Soorebia believes winning the “Next Rated Act” category at the 3Music Awards may just be the platform that finally helps him achieve his dreams.
“This award means a lot to me and my team who have sacrificed so much to help me get here. Now, I need Ghanaians to embrace and support my music. It is not just for me, but for the people of the Upper East Region.”
“We have embraced Tinny with his Ga rap, Edem with his Ewe rap and so on. Now it’s time for us to embrace Soorebia and Frafra rap,” Soorebia told MyJoyOnline.
