Police Corporal Suleman Gbana Ayuba of the Tamale District police has been arrested.
He is assisting investigations of a robbery incident that involved a forex bureau operator in Tamale last week.
Two suspects escaped leaving behind a Hyundai saloon car and an Apsonic motorbike which were recovered by the police.
According to the Northern Regional Crime Officer Superintendent, Otuo Acheampong, the motorbike was traced to Corporal Suleman Gbana Ayuba which led to his arrest.
Three of the suspects namely Adam Siba, Alhassan Issa and Baba Issa who were arrested were put before the Tamale Circuit Court on April 22, and have been remanded into police custody until May 7.
The Regional Crime Officer added that two of the suspects, Haruna Safianu and Alhassa Iddrisu sustained gunshot wounds and are receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital, guarded by armed personnel.
