The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has cautioned the public to desist from spreading fake recruitment advertisements on social media.
This comes after an advertisement circulating on social media claiming, GAF is recruiting for 2020/2021.
However, the GAF Public Relations Director, Colonel Eric Aggrey-Quashie in a statement dispelled the rumour and urged public to be on guard.
“GAF does not advertise on social media and does not engage middlemen in such exercises.
“Therefore the public should take heed of the education and desist from paying monies through ‘mobile money’ to unscrupulous persons who claim to be agents of GAF as such persons are fraudsters.”
Indicating what is being done to tackle the issue, Colonel Aggrey-Quashie said, the military together with other security agencies, is working steadily to track down perpetrators of the act to arrest and prosecute them.
“Persons interested in joining GAF should stick to the clarified and official channels that the GAF uses in announcing recruitment and enlistment exercises,” he advised.
