The Volta Region Government Teaching Hospital has taken delivery of what, is said to be the biggest support with regards to the PPEs by the Volta Regional Rep of Council of State, His Eminence Albert Francis Nyonyo.
The items which cost Ghc 100.000.00 was presented by the MP for Anlo Clement Kofi Humado on behalf of H.E Nyonyo and the Nyonyo Foundation.
In his remarks, Mr Humado stated that the situation in which Ghana finds itself calls for all hands on deck because government alone cannot do it without the help of the people.
"We need everyone to give a helping hand to the government so that together we can battle this pandemic” Hon. Humado said.
He said it was necessary that the effort of government is recognized and appreciated by the people by adhering to the directives of the President and the Health Ministry.
The Volta Regional Minister Dr. Archibold Letsa who received the items on behalf of the region and the hospital thanked H.E Nyonyo and the Nyonyo Foundation for the kind gesture towards combating the corona virus disease and health services delivery in the region.
Dr Achibald Yao Letsa reiterated government commitment at making sure that the health needs of the people are well taken care of especially at this critical moment.
The Acting CEO for the Ho Government Teaching Hospital, Dr Lord Graceful Mensah said donating of PPEs helps boost their moral and encourages health staff to work harder.
Dr Mensah was grateful to the Nyonyo Foundation for the kind gesture and urged others to emulate it.
The Volta Region has a total of ten confirmed cases of COVID19, and the patients are all responding to treatment.
