The Member of Parliament (MP) for Mpohor constituency, Alex Agyekum, has donated sanitary items worth ¢53,000 to his constituents in the Mpohor District, to help curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Among the items are Veronica buckets, hand sanitisers, tissue papers and liquid soap.
The Mpohor lawmaker had earlier distributed similar sanitary items to clinics, CHPS compounds, lorry terminals and various markets in the constituency, to undertake various preventive measures against Covid-19.
The items were donated to the constituents on Easter Monday.
Receiving the items on behalf of the constituents, the NPP Chief Patron of the constituency, Mr. Kenneth Asarhin, thanked the MP for the display of dynamic leadership and support, especially, during the Covid-19 pandemic period.
He assured the lawmaker that the items will be distributed using the Assembly members and Unit Committee members in each locality.
Mr. Asarhin, on behalf of the vulnerable in the constituency, expressed his appreciation to Mrs. Ophelia Agyekum, wife of the lawmaker, for mobilising a team of women organisers in the constituency to cook for the aged, the blind, physically challenged and the sick in the district.
The MP had on Easter Sunday, put smiles on the faces of over 1,000 people with various degrees of vulnerabilities, by providing to each of them a hot meal and some sanitary items to enable them stay healthy in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
