Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in an Easter message has urged Ghanaians to abide by all health tips, directed at preventing the spread of the new coronavirus in Ghana.
In a video with wife, Samira, the Vice President asked Ghanaians to stay home during the festive season as the government continues to put in place measures to combat the pandemic.
He said as believers continue to pray against the pandemic, he is hopeful the country will witness a turning point.
Currently, Ghana has recorded 387 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. This, according to health authorities is a result of an ongoing enhanced contact tracing and testing exercise.
President Akufo-Addo in his sixth message to the nation on Thursday, April 9, 2020, urged Ghanaians to avoid large family gatherings or any grouping that goes against the social distancing rule.
He described it as the ultimate sacrifice to make for families and friends during this year’s celebration of Easter.
Endorsing this directive, Dr. Bawumia encouraged Ghanaians to obey the instruction by the President, follow all lockdown protocols so the battle against Covid-19 will be won.
