President Akufo-Addo is set to address the nation on Sunday, April 5.
This address will be about the progress of the 14-day lockdown imposed on some cities as a measure of containing the coronavirus.
Although JoyNews’ sources at the Jubilee House have confirmed the address, it is uncertain what time it will take place.
This address will be President Akufo-Addo's fifth update for the nation since it began recording coronavirus cases.
This announcement comes after the president on April 4 extended the border closure by another two weeks.
According to the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, “this is to ensure that the risk of importation of Covid-19 cases will remain curtailed while we focus on the enhanced tracing and testing program currently underway."
Meanwhile residents in Accra, Kasoa and some parts of Kumasi are still observing government's lockdown.
