Darkovibes has released his highly anticipated album ‘Kpanlogo’ to entertain fans while they observe the lockdown.
‘Kpanlogo’ is the celebrated Afrobeat artiste’s debut album. The eclectic album fuses elements of Afrobeat with Hip-Hop, rap, and trap.
It also features collaborations with several of Africa’s finest musicians including Runtown, Mr Eazi, King Promise, Kwesi Arthur, Joey B, Peruzzi, and Mugees (R2Bees).
Sharing his inspiration behind the album and its title Darkovibes said it does not only reflects his heritage but also who he is as a person.
“I reference culture and movement, but with a fresh twist. Just like when urban youth started doing the Kpanlogo dance in the 1960s – it’s about the future, and the past simultaneously,” he said.
The album also features Darkovibes’ debut single ‘Different’ and his other songs including ‘Stay Woke’ (ft. Stonebwoy), ‘Come My Way’ (ft. Mr Eazi) and ‘Inna Song (Gin & Lime)’ with King Promise.
Prior to the release of ‘Kpanlogo’, The Fader, in an editorial feature described Darkovibes’ music “revolutionizing the way we see life in Ghana, helping to bridge the representation gap between Africa and the rest of the world.”
With the release of ‘Kpanlogo’, the singer and songwriter is hoping to continue to push the boundaries of Afrobeats music with new sounds and fusion.
The 14 track album is available on all digital platforms for streaming and/or downloads.
