Karpowership Ghana Company Limited has made a contribution of ¢300,000 to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund.
This is in supporting efforts of government to combat the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
President Akufo–Addo over the weekend announced the setting up of the crucial trust fund that would be used to combat the outbreak of Covid-19 which has so far claimed five lives in the country.
He named the Board of Trustees to be chaired by former Chief Justice Sophia Akufo and appealed to Ghanaians and institutions to support the Fund.
Many individuals and organisations have since answered his rallying calls.
One of them is Karpowership.
Presenting the cheque on behalf of the company Friday, Corporate Communications Specialist, Sandra Amarquaye, said that Karpowership Ghana as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility projects decided to contribute to the Fund.
"We are about people so it was easy to support government in catering for people whose lives would be negatively impacted by the COVID19 pandemic," she. said.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the President, the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei Opare, thanked Karpowership Ghana for its timely contribution.
She said it would allow government to continually be ahead of the virus and not to chase it.
Madam Osei Opare is optimistic such donations will enable government to quickly bring the curve of Covid-19 infections down.
She implored other companies to emulate their gesture of pivotal support.
