A businessman based in Abossey Okai in Accra, Emmanuel Obeng Nyarko, has donated GH¢100,000 to the COVID-19 National Trust Fund.
The auto parts dealer says the donation is in response to the call by President Nana Akufo-Addo, for individuals and organisations to contribute to the fund to alleviate the sufferings of those hit hard by the new coronavirus pandemic.
The President, in his address to the nation Friday, announced the setting of the fund as part of measures by the government to combat the virus.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, who received the donation on behalf of the government, was full of praise for the businessman’s patriotic gesture and appealed for more.
He assured Ghanaians that the government is doing everything possible to contain the virus.
