Some 381 contacts have been traced from the first six cases of the novel coronavirus in Ghana.
None of the persons has been confirmed as a suspected case of the pandemic, Director of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service (GHS) Badu Sarkodie has said.
He was speaking at a press briefing organised by the Information Ministry in Accra, added that all the contacts are being followed up on and they are doing well.
He said contacts tracing have begun on the seventh case which was confirmed on Tuesday and the team would update the health authorities soon.
Meanwhile, government is enforcing its travel ban on all countries which have recorded more than 200 cases of the Covid-19.
Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, speaking at the press briefing, said the legislation to deal with a possible spread of the coronavirus will be laid in Parliament by close of Wednesday.
He said the bill seeks to limit the freedoms in Article 21 of the 1992 Constitution.
Article 21/1(g) of the Constitution states that “All persons shall have the right to freedom of movement which means the right to move freely in Ghana, the right to leave and to enter Ghana and immunity from expulsion from Ghana.”
The legislation is likely to go heavy on this clause.
