The Local Government Service has suspended the use of biometric clocking system at all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and Regional Coordinating Councils (RCCs) in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a statement signed by James Oppong-Mensah, the Acting Chief Director of the Service, MMDAs and RCCs are to ensure that directives issued government are adhered to.
“All RCCs and MMDAs are to ensure the safety of all employees as well as the community in their respective jurisdiction to reduce the spread of the virus,” the statement indicated.
President in a televised address on Sunday, March 15, charged the Local Government Ministry to liaise with relevant local authorities to strengthen the fight of coronavirus in the country.
