UAE side Al Wahda FC have tabled an undisclosed offer to Tunisian side Esperance for Ghana defender Harrison Afful.
According to Tunisian media, officials of the Tunis club are willing to enter into negotiation with Al Wahda when the player returns from the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations.
He played in all of Ghana’s matches as the Black Stars suffered a 9-8 penalty shootout defeat to Ivory Coast in the final.
Afful’s contract with the Blood and Gold expires at the end of the season and would be available on a free transfer.
Esperance anticipated the 27-year-old Ghana international would leave during the January transfer window and excluded him from their CAF Champions League squad.
But that has been rectified and the former Asante Kotoko player named in their squad for the continent’s flagship event which starts this month.
