Hearts of Oak claim they are on the brink of concluding negotiations with their former striker Bernard Dong Bortey for a return to the club.
The club have been involved in a prolonged discussion with Bortey over a return to the domestic game after his abortive trip abroad.
Bortey is unattached after being released by his Israeli side last term and he has since struggled to find a club.
Officials of the league leaders say they want to offer another platform to the former ace to re-launch his career.
Bortey had a successful career with Hearts of Oak after he helped them win the CAF African Champions League and the Super Cup in 2000.
He was also part of the team that beat rivals Asante Kotoko to clinch the maiden edition of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The club says they are awaiting his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from the Middle East to enable him feature in the remaining matches of the Glo Premier League.
