Dozens of football fans are said to be filing into the Bamako Stadium, more than seven hours to the crucial World and Nations cup qualifier between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Eagles of Mali.
The news comes at the back of mounting tensions following reports of clashes between Ghanaian supporters and security.
The supporters as well as journalists were reported to have been prevented from watching the Stars final training match by security which culminated into skirmishes and delayed the training session by thirty minutes.
Ghana’s Deputy Sports Minister, Nii Nortey Dua according to Joy FM’s Ernest Koranteng, was also denied entry.
Unfazed by the actions of the security on Friday, Mr. Koranteng told Joy News’ Bernard Saibu on Sunday, the stadium is already basking at its seams as supporters, Malians and Ghanaians alike keep trooping in.
The match expected to begin 19 hours GMT will see group leaders, Black Stars come up against perennial under achievers, Mali as both sides are fancied to pick the single world cup slot in the group, comprising Benin and Sudan.
