The Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs, Akua Sena Dansua has denied saying the four year duration for the Senior High School education would deny women the right to early marriage.
She was alleged to have made the comment in an interview as part of her defence to why the SHS would have to be reverted to three years.
Reactions from the public to the alleged comments have not been pleasant, forcing the minister to clarify her position.
She told Joy FM’s ‘irreverent’ journalist, Ato Kwamena Dadzie on the Week-end City show on Saturday, she was taken out of context.
According to her, she made several salient arguments on why the four years SHS has to be reviewed and found it appalling why Dadzie and other journalists will focus on the irrelevant one.
She said with her position which is to promote and champion the interest of women, it is most unfortunate such a comment would be attributed to her without the whole gamut of interview played to listeners.
