My mother….surely it won’t take much for anyone on the street to recite what their mothers have done for them, nine months of labour and much more, but if I may ask; could mother have experienced all the blessings without father? It is uncommon for many fathers to feel left out and unappreciated on father’s day because comparatively, mother’s day is widely acclaimed and most celebrated than father’s day.
Surely fathers deserve more for their pioneering role in the birth process, resultant stresses in shouldering the hefty responsibility of caring for a wife, children, and family. To be a man is surely a test of a man! One subtle attribute of a father is his spiritual and physical protection for his children. In traditional Akan communities of Ghana, a new born is made to sleep on his or her father’s cloth which serves as a pillow for a specified time. It is said that this stabilizes the life of the child on earth. It is believed that a father is the soul of his children!
The role of a father is one of multitasking, planning, strategizing, and re-strategizing. Men by nature are less expressive in affection than women, and thus are unable to warm up to their children as their wives would. This difference in physiological make up works to the disadvantage of most fathers who are unable to effectively bond and connect with their children. Irrespective of this challenge, some exceptions exist; some fathers are able to excel in this regard and bond seamlessly with their children.
Whether you have an expressive father who showers all warmth and affection or a laid back one who expresses his affection in prayers and silent approval, there is one fact which cannot be overemphasized. Your father deserves your respect and love; because it is a universal requirement and the right thing to do. As the world marks father’s day, there is the need for all en sundry to show love and care to the great men in their lives. Have you decided yet on what to give your father on this special day? The fact stands that there is no special gift than the gift of life. After years of strenuous work, pressures, and the like, all fathers need to live longer to reap from where they have sown or in some cases benefit from the success of children they have helped raise.
The nervous system which is housed in the spine controls messages sent from the brain to other vital organs in the body; it is no wonder that nature built armour around it (spine and skull)! If the nervous system functions at a hundred minus one percent, an individual’s optimum health is compromised. All it takes to decrease a person’s nerve function by a whooping sixty percent is the weight of a one Pesewa coin! If there is a shift in a person’s spinal cord, interference occurs and this obstructs the free flow of the nervous system. Think of what would happen if your brain is unable to communicate with the other organs of your body for just a second; your body would eventually breakdown and deteriorates. Culminating into a state of dis-ease!
Back to the question; what is the best gift you can gift to Papa on fathers’ day? ---The Gift of Life! Have your father’s spine checked today for interferences in the nervous system and you would be glad you did!
