Interest in solar energy – power derived from the sun- as an alternative source of power is increasing as many look for solutions to the current energy crisis.
DENG, a company that develops solar power systems, says installations have increased four fold since the load shedding program started some eight months ago.
Though solar power technology has been available for more than three decades, the cost involved has made it almost unaffordable. But Sales Manager of DENG, Mr Nathaniel Manu, said because of increased interest in solar power prices will come down.
Speaking to Joy News, he said people are getting more interested in solar power following the power crisis.
Also at the offices of Deng was Rita Ofori-Tackie, a teacher at Accra sub-metro. She explained why she’s interested in solar power.
