Miss Donna Woyongo, the 26-year old daughter of the Upper East Regional Minister, Mr. Mark Woyongo, who died on May 11 was at the weekend buried in Navrongo, Kassena Nankana District capital.
The burial church service led by Most Reverend Lucas Abadamloora, Bishop of Navrongo – Bolgatanga Catholic Diocese together with the Vicar General, Reverend Fr. Thomas Anamoh and other priests of the Church at the Minor Basilica in Navrongo was attended by the Vice President, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, Minister of Interior, Mr. Cletus Avoca, Minister of Communication, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, Heads of Departments in the Region and relatives and friends of Mr. Woyongo and his family.
Deliverng the sermon, Rev. Fr. Robert Afanori, urged the family not to mourn like people who had no hope but be comforted by the Christian belief that she was in the hands of God; “do not let your hearts be troubled, trust in God,” he told Mr. Woyongo and family.
He noted that life in the view of a Christian was not measured by days and years but by deeds and since the late Miss Woyongo was a kind person who lived not for herself alone but also for others, she lived a good life, satisfying to God.
Mr. Woyongo read a tribute to his daughter saying she was someone everybody would have loved to have as a daughter as she was loving, caring, respectful, well- mannered, industrious and cheerful. “She wore a smile that spoke volumes; she was sociable and made many friends”.
The late Miss Woyongo, died at the Sakumono Community Hospital in Accra after a short illness.
