Ghana got a timely boost ahead of their crucial game against Algeria with the return to training of captain Asamoah Gyan, Tuesday.
The Al Ain ace missed the opening Group C defeat to Senegal on Monday due to a "mild bout of malaria".
Gyan was sorely missed in the game as the Black Stars threw away an early lead to lose 1-2 to Senegal.
Avram Grant’s side is likely to profit from the return of their prolific captain for Friday’s must-win clash against Algeria.
Gyan did some light shake up with the team on Tuesday at a session which was closed to the media and the public.
The 29-year-old is expected to return to full-scale training with the side in the coming days ahead of the game against Algeria.
Ghana is desperate for a win following their opening group defeat to Senegal to resurrect their campaign in Equatorial Guinea.
The Black Stars face an early exit if they are unable to secure the desired result against the tournament favourites on Friday.
