A woman who claimed to have consulted an occult together with her husband so they could get rich quick has died hours after her confession.
Comfort Babanator died in the evening of Tuesday, May 19, hours after speaking on Asempa FM following news that she had expelled a polythene bag and the skull of a dog during labour at her father’s village at Nyive near Ho in the Volta Region.
Her body has since been deposited at the Adidome mortuary.
Before her death, she confessed in front of her family that she was responsible for her predicament.
According to family members, Comfort had been pregnant and went into difficult labour on Friday, May 15, however at about 1am on Saturday, she ‘gave birth’ to a black polythene bag.
Her labour persisted though, and her younger sister, Margaret Babanator, a resident of Adabraka in Accra who was at the village with her family, decided to return to Accra to see her pastor to help with prayers.
Margret duly sent her sister some anointing oil from the Hope Generation Ministries International at Oblogo, a suburb of Accra with the instruction that she should drink it in the hope that it would ease her discomforts.
She did as instructed, and on Sunday, May 17, she ‘gave birth’ rather strangely, to the dried skull of a dog. Comfort was never herself since the strange developments, and confessed being responsible for a number of strange happenings in the family.
She narrated how together with her husband, they once went for ‘juju’ from Nzema in the Western Region of Ghana to improve their finances.
Comfort had on Tuesday claimed on Asempa Today that the magic did not work as expected after the ‘jujuman’ demanded the womb of her sister, Margaret Babanator, 37, to be used for the rituals. The chosen ‘sacrificial lamb’ was pregnant at the time, as a result of which the jujuman asked to sacrifice the baby after delivery.
Comfort claimed that the new plan also failed because the sister delivered twins on each of three consecutive times, while the jujuman objected to the use of a twin for the ritual.
Comfort said her sister is a fervent and prayerful Christian and thought her many ‘escapes’ was a divine intervention.
She however claimed responsibility for the death of her sister’s first husband and the crippling of her present husband as well.
Comfort’s own husband is reported to have gone insane roaming the streets of home.
