The Ghana Armed Forces in consultation with the Armed Forces Council has made promotions and appointments to three Training Commands.
They are Brigadier General Kwesi Yankson, promoted to the Rank of Major General and appointed Commandant, Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC); Commodore Munir Mohammed Tahiru, promoted to the Rank of Rear Admiral and appointed Commandant, Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) and Air Commodore Christian Edem Kobla Dovlo, appointed Commandant, Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) and promoted to the rank of Air Vice Marshal.
A statement signed by Colonel E.W.K. Nibo, Director, Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces said all the appointments take effect from May 12, 2009.
The Military High Command on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief extends its profound gratitude and appreciation to the three outgoing Commandants for their exemplary, dedicated, meritorious and unblemished service to the nation in general and the Armed Forces in particular, it added.
The statement said the High Command wished them a peaceful and fruitful retirement life.
