The Takoradi Polytechnic Chapter of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed shock about the untimely death of Madam Hawa Yakubu and expressed members' heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family.
The chapter described the late Madam Yakubu as "a colossus, who perfectly understood the politics of our time and therefore lived for all including her political opponents".
These were contained in a statement issued in Takoradi on Saturday and signed by Mr Kenneth Quansah, Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Confederacy.
The statement said the late Madam Yakubu who was the First Vice Chairperson of the NPP lived a selfless life and devoted her service to the development of society.
"Her death is a big blow to her admirers and particularly the NPP, because this is the time when her contributions were needed most to make the dreams of many people who cherish true democracy come true", the statement said.
It said her life story would serve as an inspiration to many people, particularly the youth and generations yet unborn.
The statement suggested that her body be brought to Takoradi to enable her admirers in Sekondi-Takoradi to pay their last respect to their role model.
