The Police in Accra say they are holding three soldiers alleged to have brutalized a 21-year-old man, Evans Kusi to death.
The Commander of the Accra Regional Police, DCOP Douglas Akrofi-Asiedu says the three; Daniel Ankomah, Michael Okpata and Atsu Bodza are being investigated for murder.
A report carried by the Public Agenda newspaper on Friday alleged that the soldiers beat up the victim for questioning why he and his colleagues would not be allowed into a hotel at a suburb of Accra called Alhaji, to attend a friend’s party.
Evans Kusi died on March 4 and his family has called for thorough investigations into the incident. The father of the victim, Emmanuel Kusi told Joy News a post mortem report showed that his son died as a result of the injuries he sustained from the beating.
Meanwhile Colonel E.K. Nibo, Head of Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Armed Forces has also told Joy News the soldiers would be made to face the full rigours of the law if found culpable.
