The 10th anniversary of the enstoolment of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, will reach its climax on Sunday when a grand durbar is held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Mr G.B. Osei-Antwi, Media Relations Manager at the Manhyia Palace, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Kumasi on Friday that President John Atta Mills would be among dignitaries who would attend the durbar.
Others are former President Festus Mogae of Botswana, former President Mr Tejan Kabbah of Sierra Leone, former President Benjamin Mkapa of Tanzania and former President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria.
Activities so far held to mark the anniversary include a memorial service for late Asantehene, Otumfuo Opoku Ware II, exhibition on achievements of Otumfuo Osei Tutu, cultural display by traditional priests, thanksgiving services by Christians and Muslims, musical concert and football tournament for the MTN/Otumfuo Challenge Cup.
Mr Osei-Antwi appealed to the public who will troop to the durbar grounds to comport themselves to ensure an incident-free function.
