Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan and his foundation has assumed guardian responsibilities for triplets whose mother is deceased.
Chief Executive Officer of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation Samuel Anim Addo visited the motherless triplets at their home in Okwampa, near Bawjiase in the Central Region of Ghana on Saturday morning to make the declaration.
The nine-month male triplets; named Francis, Frank and Franklin lost their mother a month after their delivery while the whereabouts of their father is unknown.
The Asamoah Gyan Foundation was made aware of the situation through a child advocacy foundation named Golden World.
The triplets will remain in the custody of their external family under the new arrangement with all cost related to their feeding, healthcare, education etc taken up by the Asamoah Gyan Foundation.
“The Asamoah Gyan Foundation is doing a lot of things on the quiet to impact positively on the lives of Ghanaians,” Chief Executive Officer of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation Samuel Anim Addo said during his meeting with the family of the motherless triplets.
“This [assuming guardian responsibilities of the triplets] adds to the already existing things that we are doing.
“I am very happy to see these lovely boys. And thankfully they are triplets which is consistent with the favourite number of Asamoah Gyan, three.
“We will be catering for each and every need of these kids, their education, health, feeding and also guide them so they become responsible citizens of the nation.
“We don’t know the talents in these kids, who knows, they could part of the next generation of Asamoah Gyans.
“And even if they don’t, they could become doctors, engineers, pilots and what have you to help this nation in future.
“We are therefore coming in to ensure that these kids realize their fullest potential. That is what the Asamoah Gyan Foundation stands for.”
Officials of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation including the Al Ain star’s lawyer Kissi Adjabeng then proceeded to briefly observe a juvenile football game at the Okwampa local pitch.
The foundation pledged to assist the local juvenile team with football kits and equipments and also help improve their technical capacity with a sponsored program of bringing in experienced coaches.
The most talented ones will also be assisted to move to clubs and academies with superior facilities in ensuring they realize their maximum potential.
