Asamoah Gyan was once again on the scoresheet for Al Ain in their thumping 4-1 win over Al Sharjah on Thursday evening.
The Black Stars captain opened the scoring in the 50th minute after the Boss had endured a frustrating first half at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.
Gyan has now scored eight goals in seven league matches to keep up with his ‘insane’ scoring rate since moving to the UAE in 2011.
Wanderley pulled the visitors level seven minutes later before Miroslave Stoch, Myeong-Ju Lee and Jires Kembo Ekoko took their scoring turns to complete the rout.
The win shots Al Ain to the top of the Arabnian Gulf League – one point ahead of second-placed Al Shabab despite still having a game in hand.
Zlatko Dalic’s also stretches their unbeaten run to six matches in all competitions.
