Ten out of 14 media personnel on board an Urvan bus in the Ashanti Regional Minister's convoy sustained various degrees of injuries when their vehicle run into a ditch at Kwame Adu junction near New Edubiase in the Adansi South District.
The press men who were part of Mr. Kofi Opoku-Manu'a entourage were on their way back to Kumasi from New Edubiase when the accident occurred.
All but one of the injured were treated and discharged at New Edubiase Government Hospital where they received initial treatment.
Those whose conditions were serious were rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and are responding to treatment.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Ebenezer Benson, the District commander, said the driver of the Urvan Bus, in a bid to close up with the other vehicles lost control when negotiating a sharp curve at Kwame Adu junction and run into a ditch.
However, the driver escaped unhurt.
