The Premier League Board has postponed the start of the second half of the Glo Premier League to next month citing technicalities as the chief reason.
The League was initially scheduled to begin on 26 April but clubs have been given ample time prepare for the resumption on 03 May.
The PLB also claims the extension will afford clubs the opportunity to verify newly registered players during the mid-season transfer window.
The postponement of the League was arrived after a meeting with all 16 club chairmen and representatives on Thursday.
The Premier League Board reckons the change of date will not affect the calendar of the GFA.
"The change of date has been necessitated by a lot of technical factors which will not affect the calendar of the GFA,'' A statement read.
"There are issues about the Otumfuo cup, camping for the national teams and a host of others which compels us to move it to a later date.''
A total of 252 goals were scored in the first round of the League.
Hearts of Oak were half-way champions and their midfielder Obed Ansah leads the goal king chart with nine goals.
