The Madina Police have arrested 25 suspected drug peddlers in the area.
The arrests were made during a six hour swoop by the police in areas noted for drug peddling and mobile phone snatching.
The suspects were arrested in areas around the Redco Flats at Adenta Housing Down and Atima behind the Madina market.
Six of the suspects were found with leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and they will be put before court.
They are Yusif Aziz, Anthony Ezel, Mohammed Awal, Abubakari Zuk, Yaw Attah and Baro James.
The others will be screened for related crimes in the area.
The Divisional Crime Officer of the Madina Police, DSP Apenteng Baffour explained that the police organised the swoop on March 22 and 23 this year in areas noted for drug peddling to stop the operations of drug peddlers.
DSP Baffour said the exercise was meant to clamp down on drug peddlers and other criminals in the area so that residents could go about their lawful duties without fear or hindrance.
