The Sports Minister Alhaji Mubarak Muntanka Mohammed has served a notice to Fifa for redress if the Ghana Football Asscociation fails to implement the government White Paper on the recommendations of the Belieb Committee of inquiry into the stadium disaster.
He is quoted in the state-owned newspaper, Graphic Sports, that nothing would stop governement from ensuring that the recommendations were carried through.
" And I am ready to go to Fifa should the GFA fail to act appropriately."
The committee's recommendations of a five-year ban to the Kotoko Chief Executive and others implicated will have to be enforced by the Football Association.
But that has been seen as government interfering in football matters which Fifa frowns on.
Some fans have protested against the recommendations and some committee members have received death threats from some dyed-in-the-wool Kotoko fans.
Lawyers of the embattled Kotoko CEO have also served notice to go to court if action against him are not dropped.
" People cannot hide behind some frivolous laws and play mischief.I am a Kumasi man and cannot do anything that would tarnish the image of where I come from," Muntaka is quoted in the Graphic at a news conference.
" I only want to see that justice takes its course."
