Government will have to brace itself for it will not get the usual complementary effort of Non Governmental Organizations.
This is because most NGOs in the country which secure their funding from external sources are reeling under the global financial crisis.
One of such organizations, Oxfam has closed its Northern Regional office in Tamale.
The NGO which specializes in poverty reduction has sent home about 17 of workers and cut substantially its support to poverty reduction efforts.
The country director of Oxfam, Justin Morgan told Joy News donors could not give money to the organization because they were struggling to deal with the challenges of the economic downturn.
He expects the G20 meeting to end with a firm commitment for western countries to fulfill their pledges of aid to poor countries.
ActionAid Ghana is not also left out in the global crisis virus.
The organization cut back its project support by 15 per cent. ActionAid whose preoccupation is reducing rural poverty cannot carry out its programmes.
The Deputy Country Director Isaac Oware told Joy News the NGO was running on its previous savings.
