Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwasi Duku, Deputy Ashanti Regional Police commander, has entreated the public to be supportive of the police in curbing crime.
He pointed out that peace is an essential ingredient in any nation’s development and that Ghana could only be a safe country when the public regard the police as partners in development and not enemies.
ACP Duku made the call when the Ashanti Regional Executive committee of the Ghana National Association of Traditional Healers (GNATH) called on him in Kumasi to solicit the support of the police for a task force the association had formed to flush out quacks in the region.
The Deputy Police Commander lauded members of the Association for their support to the health sector and urged them to add value to their practices and products to bring them to standard.
Mr Eric Agyemang, Regional Secretary of GNATH, said the activities of fake traditional healers were hampering the work of members of the Association and pointed out that it was out of this concern that the task force was instituted.
