President Nyantankyi promises Beach Soccer an Arena

President of the Ghana Football Association  Kwesi Nyantakyi has promised the construction of a modern Beach Soccer  Arena after witnessing  the exciting finale of  the 2013 / 2014 Season.  

 Nyantakyi has also  promised to support the development of beach soccer in Ghana through courses for referees, coaches and assist with the provision of basic logistics for the sport. 

The FA boss who has recently come under heavy criticism from a section of the Ghanaian media and the football fraternity  made his intentions known  after  he executed a back flip to kick off the final match of the 2014 Ghana Beach Soccer Championship.

"It will not be a bad idea to do that. and I also believe that if we pay attention to beach soccer we may even get the attention of FIFA ,and CAF ,SO we can get something to build facilities, I don't think that a beach soccer field will require the same level of invested as a normal football pitch, you don't need so much ,So we can look at the figures and see how best we can do it. "he promised

Ghana Beach Soccer for the past three seasons  has been housed at a makeshift beach soccer  at LA in capital and routinely have to endure rental cost and maintenance fees whilst the league is in session.20 teams  play in double tier beach soccer league, 10 each in  Division one and CAL Bank championship and share the same space during match days. 

GFA Prez further added his outfit plans to  provide relief for  Beach soccer clubs with  soon to unveiled time lines.

"We can even give ourselves time lines if we are not able to do it in a year. We can say let's have a 4-year plan to do it one pitch per region or something similar to that and then we start something o n a modest scale"he added.

Also in attendance at the  coronation of the  new champions ,Havedzi Mighty Warriors , were the deputy Minister of Youth & Sport Hon Vincent Oppong Asamoah and the Director General of the National Sports Authority Joe Kpeng and former Black Stars defender (Caf Fifa Match Coordinator) Anthony Baffoe who was representing the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).

 Mighty Warriors from Havedzi in the Volta region were crowned the new champions after they defeated Keta Sunset 2-1 in an engrossing final match.

 After just three seasons, Ghana can boast of two beach soccer divisions with twenty teams and over 400 registered beach soccer players. 

The Ghana Beach Association is expected to announce a head coach and national squad ahead of the Copa Lagos Invitational in December.
