About 200 buildings including classroom blocks and Churches had their roofing ripped off at Agona Kwesitwikrom and Agona Nyasakyere in a severe rainstorm on Sunday.
Albert Quainoo, Assemblyman for the area said four people who sustained minor injuries were treated and discharged at the Agona Kwanyako Clinic.
He said about 300 people were rendered homeless and were putting up with relatives, while others were staying in the local Methodist Church and the New Apostolic Church buildings.
The Assemblyman said that the rainstorm lasted more than three hours.
He said some of the buildings affected were private houses, the African Faith Tabernacle Church and the SDA Church.
Mr Quainoo stated that the rainstorm uprooted some trees planted at vantage points of the two communities and 24 coconut trees while some food crops were destroyed.
He therefore appealed to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Agona District Assembly for assistance.
